Tin-coating strip is widely used mainly in canned food industry, and also used as package materials in chemistry, medicine, textile-dying, industrial oil, household, instrument, and military products. Tin-coating plate can be soldered, and easy to be coated and printed.
Statistic shows that there are mainly electrolytic coating and hot dip coating for tin-coating, and the electrolytic coating accounts most while the hot dip coating products only share a little market. The main reasons for that are that compared with hot dip tin coating, the electrolytic coating has advantages as following:
1、 High process speed, high yield, high quality. The line speed for hot-dip tin coating is normally lower than 15 m/min,and the coating layer is not even, and the quality is not stable. While the line speed for electrolytic tin coating line could be above 300m/min, and the maximum line speed can be up to 750m/min and the coating layer is even and the quality is stable.
2、 Saving a lot of precious metal Tin. The consumption of tin in hot-dip tin coating line is 15 to 17kg per ton strip while that used for electrolytic tin coating line is only about 7kg.
3、The tin coating layer in hot-dip tin coating line is1.5 µm, and is very hard to control and adjust, while the tin coating layer for electrolytic tin coating line can be adjusted among 0.4 to 2, besides in this line, the tin coating layer of different thickness can also be produced. The mainly used tin coating thickness is 0.38 to 1.5 for single surface and the tin consumption for single surface is 2.8 to 11.2 g/m2, that is 0.25 to 1.01b/bb.
